Linux-based software tools
White dwarf Linux (wd linux) v. 1.0 is based on the most recent Linux kernel (2.2.14) and includes more than 40 software packages, including a web browser, an Apache 1.3.11 web server, and e-mail capability. It's small enough to load on embedded PCs and contains features including TCP/IP tools (ftp, telnet, hostname, ftpd, and so on); a terminal emulation package; gcc development tools; and ppp drivers and scripts. wd linux runs on JUMPtec single board computers including the DIMM-PC, the MOPSlcd4, and the MOPS586. It consists of a 1.44MB bootdisk and a 1.44 MB rootdisk. White dwarf linux is available now through the company's Web site.

Software supports encryption
The EmWeb/SSL software helps integrate Web management and encryption software by supporting RSA Security's RSA BSAFE SSL-C encryption software. It supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) versions 2 and 3 and the Internet Engineering Task Force's Transport Layer Security (TLS) v. 1 standard for users of the VxWorks RTOS.

Tools support Linux
Embedded PERC v. 2.2 supports the Linux operating system and includes the PERC Java-compliant virtual machine, compilers, tools, and libraries. In addition to supporting Linux, Embedded PERC also supports VxWorks, pSOSystem, Windows NT, ETS, and RTX. The Embedded PERC v. 2.2 product family also includes a set of development and integration tools, including the ROMizer static linking tool, PERCH native method integration tool, QuickPERC just-in-time and flash compiler, Embedded Toolkit component library, and PERC 2.2 libraries. Integration utility for Platform Builder
AMCTAP integration utility for Windows CE Platform Builder v. 3.0 gives application developers working in the Windows CE development environment run-time control of Motorola 8xx processors and NEC MIPS processors. AMCTAP is a hardware debugging application program interface. With this utility, any Applied Microsystems emulator or third-party emulator that conforms to Applied's API will work with any tool in the Windows CE Platform Builder Development environment. AMCTAP provides a connection to the target through a JTAG interface to CE and operates in two distinct modes: hardware debug and software monitor mode.

Mobile middleware
Smart IP is a mobile middleware product that allows Internet/intranet and IP-based applications to run over digital circuit-switched wireless data networks efficiently. It uses proxy server technology to support the Winsock application programming interfaced used by Internet and IP-based applications.
