Open environment (community) created for embedded developers

I've been remiss in not commenting on this: MontaVista Software is sponsoring a community for developers of embedded Linux devices. Called Meld, it provides a forum for developers to connect and share information, ideas, and software related to embedded Linux designs.

On one hand, who better to sponsor something like this than one of the leaders in the embedded Linux space. But on the other hand, it might have been better to have this sponsored by someone who doesn't have a financial stake in its success.

I expect this environment to be successful, because experience has shown me that embedded developers like these kinds of things. They enjoy using open-source code and sharing ideas.

Meld has been in beta since late January, and is available for anyone to join.
