Databases
Telecom One (TM1) benchmark is designed to measure the speed of databases used within telecommunications and other network infrastructure applications. It's hosted by Solid Information Technology Corp., an embedded database vendor. The benchmark, based on work done at a telco manufacturer, was described in a Master. s thesis submitted to the University of Helsinki. The results of a TM1 benchmark show the overall throughput of the system, measured as the Maximum Qualified Throughput (MQTh) of the target database system, in transactions per second, averaged over the seven transaction types. Solid Information Technology is supporting the creation of an industry consortium to manage the TM1 benchmark, and expects to see a number of published results from other vendors in the near future.
