In “Comprehensive approach to power management in embedded systems,“ Antonio Augusto Frohlich of the Laboratory for Software and Hardware Integration (LISHA), Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil describes a set of power management mechanisms designed for embedded systems including an API defined at the level of user-visible system components, the infrastructure necessary to implement that API and the use of an energy-event propagation mechanism implemented with aspect-oriented programming techniques.
