The only constant is changeEmbedded Systems Design and its affiliated conference and web site welcome a new editor in chief.
As the publisher of Embedded Systems Design, I rarely address the readership, as the editor in chief is generally your main contact.
If you look closely, you'll notice a change at the top of our masthead--Jim Turley, who did a stellar job of running the magazine and the Embedded Systems Conferences, has decided to move on. Hence, I'm proud to introduce Richard Nass as your new editor in chief.
Richard is an industry veteran, with over 18 years of experience in the electronics OEM industry. Most recently, Richard was the managing editor for the CMP Electronics Group's popular DesignLine series, with day-to-day responsibilities for the Mobile Handset DesignLine.
Before coming to CMP, Richard spent six years as the editor in chief of Portable Design magazine, where he drove the editorial content to new heights while launching a magazine and technical conference in China. Prior to that, Richard was a technology editor with Electronic Design magazine. He holds a BSEE degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Richard and I are both excited about serving your information needs in all three of our industry-leading outlets: Embedded Systems Design magazine, Embedded.com, and the Embedded Systems Conferences. Each offers its own unique value and will continue to do so.
We still believe that some articles are best delivered here in the magazine; these are the thoughtful, indepth articles you can read at your leisure. Embedded.com is your online window into the embedded world: there you'll find additional technical articles, code, and commentary. Watch for an update to the site soon. Finally our conferences are the ultimate learning resource where you can take classes from the best and brightest in the embedded world and see the latest products and techniques from key vendors in the industry.
Because we perceive these properties to be as much "yours" as they are "ours," we strongly encourage you to let us know how we're doing; let us know if there are things you'd like to see more of or less of.
We appreciate your loyalty over the years and hope we can continue the great partnership.
