SAN FRANCISCO — Virtual system prototyping tool vendor Carbon Design Systems and SystemC tools provider Actis Design LLC have announced agreements with European distributors.

Carbon said Germany's Trias Mikroelektronik GmbH and Sweden's ISS Group (Stockholm) have signed up to distribute and support Carbon's VSP and SOC-VSP software products. The Trias agreement includes Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Romania, Carbon said, while the ISS deal covers Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania.

Carbon (Waltham, Mass.) announced last month that Saros Technology Ltd would serve as its distributor in the U.K., France and the Netherlands.

"In establishing its European presence, Carbon focused on successful distributors who sell validation tools to ESL architects, firmware developers, and hardware designers," said Alan Swahn, Carbon vice president of marketing and business development, in a Thursday statement.

Actis (Portland, Ore.) also inked a deal with ISS Group. Actis named ISS its exclusive distributor in Europe, authorized to market and support AccurateC, Actis' static C++ code analyzer for SystemC.
