Contract manufacturer opens up in North Africa
LONDON Electronic manufacturing services company Zollner Elektronik AG (Zandt, Germany) has said it is opening its 13th factory in Beja, Tunisia."The favorable conditions of the region plus its immediate vicinity to Europe were the decisive factors for choosing Tunisia for a location. Start of production for the technological area of inductive components is planned to be in May 2008," Zollner said on its website.
The plant has 450 square meters of production floor area and is intended to have 20 staff. Beja is situated in the interior of Tunisia, about 120 kilometers west of the capital Tunis. Zollner has plants in Germany, Hungary, Romania and China.
