Trango brings virtualization to Symbian's mobile phones
PARIS Trango Virtual Processors, French provider of embedded processor virtualization IP, and Symbian Software Limited have joined efforts so as to provide secure virtualization support for Symbian mobile phones.Trango (Grenoble, France) said this partnership reflects the company's focus on the mobile market and on mobile phone designs, in particular.
Brad Suessmith, Trango's senior vice president and general manager, commented: "By becoming a Symbian partner, we are increasing the reach of the Trango Hypervisor while strengthening our relationships with Symbian mobile phone users, application developers, manufacturers and carriers.”
In return, Symbian said it expects the collaboration with Trango helps fuel the development of compelling solutions for the mobile market as virtualization has only recently become available on mobile phones.
Trango claims its Hypervisor allows silicon vendors and OEMs to run multiple secure native execution environments on both single core and multicore platforms. Each execution environment is composed of a virtual processor, along with its address space where memory and hardware peripherals are mapped.
