Mercury drops 'Computer' from name
Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. has changed its name to Mercury Systems Inc. in an effort to better reflect the breadth and depth of its capabilities.
Mark Aslett, Mercury Systems’ President and CEO, said, "For over 30 years, we have been delivering best-in-class embedded processing technology to our Prime contractor customers. That will never change, nor will our single-minded focus on providing the best solutions, value, services and support for our customers. Today, we deliver a broader set of sensor processing solutions than ever before and now with our expanded capabilities in RF and microwave, we are better poised to meet the sensor processing and big data processing challenges in the defense industry and Intelligence Community. We believe that ‘Mercury Systems’ clearly represents these expanded capabilities more accurately and reflects our evolution to a strategic, strong, nimble, trusted partner to Prime contractors and other key customers."
Mercury Systems has worked on over 300 programs, including Aegis, Patriot, SEWIP, Gorgon Stare and Predator/Reaper and is based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
