Microchip’s PIC18F K42 series offers the largest memory of any 8-bit PIC MCU, with up to 128 kbytes of flash and 8 kbytes of RAM, along with an extensive array of CIPs (core-independent peripherals). In addition, the microcontrollers feature an on-chip DMA controller and vectored interrupts for fast processing.

The DMA controller enables data transfers between memory space and peripherals without CPU involvement, improving system performance and lowering power consumption. When interrupts are required, vectoring allows faster response times with fixed latency and reduces software overhead.
