Enhanced MCUs offer 37 uA/MHz active mode
STMicroelectronics’ STM32L496 and STM32L4A6 team an ARM 32-bit Cortex-M4F core with large memory, extra peripherals, and low-power operation. Up to 320 kbytes of on-chip RAM complements the Chrom-ART graphics accelerator for smooth display performance in energy-conscious applications, such as IoT devices, while active-mode current of 37 µA/MHz enables longer runtime on small batteries.
The microcontrollers also pack up to 1 Mbyte of flash memory, an extra CAN interface, a camera interface, and crystal-less, full-speed USB OTG (USB On The Go). In addition, the STM32L4A6 features hardware cryptographic acceleration that implements SHA-256 and AES-128/192/256 algorithms.
