Battery monitor IC handles 60V stacks

Working with any battery chemistry or capacity, the LTC2944 from Linear Technology makes direct measurements of 3.6-V to 60-V battery stacks. No level-shifting circuitry on the supply and measurement pins is required to interface with multicell voltages, minimizing total current consumption and preserving measurement accuracy.

Outfitted with an internal 14-bit ADC, the LTC2944 battery gas gauge measures charge, voltage, current, and temperature, accurate to within 1%. Measurement information is communicated to the host system over an I2C/SMBus-compatible two-wire interface that is also used to configure the battery monitor IC.
