October 24, 2011

Redpine Signals and Grid2Home have teamed up to enable Smart Energy Profile 2.0 (SEP 2.0) over 802.11n Wi-Fi solutions from Redpine. The development platform is based on Redpine’s Connect-io-n Wi-Fi that includes embedded WLAN software and provides self-contained, low power 802.11n WLAN capability for Smart Energy applications. Redpine will offer its module with this new feature at high volume below $8.00/per unit.

The SEP 2.0-compliant G2H-SE2 software from Grid2Home provides interoperability within a Smart Grid environment. The platform includes the application layer and reference applications to enable Smart Energy systems developers to quickly integrate a Wi-Fi interface into their appliance, meter, or control units.
