Artisan Software acquires High Integrity Solutions

EE Times Europe
LONDON — Artisan Software Tools Ltd. (Cheltenham, England), a vendor of system modeling tools for embedded applications, has acquired the operating business of High Integrity Solutions Ltd. (Southampton, England) for an undisclosed amount of money.

The acquisition gives Artisan ownership of the V-Design System. The core VDS engineering and support team is set to join Artisan, taking responsibility for the products ongoing development, support and maintenance.

"Artisan Studio, our flagship model-driven tool suite, which provides complete support for UML, OMG SysML, and Architectural Frameworks in a single, integrated environment, is also one of the best-in-class engineering tools already supported by VDS," said James Gambrell, president and CEO of Artisan Software Tools, in a statement.

The VDS environment is currently marketed as a managed service that supports third-party vendors, including Artisan, Aonix, IBM/Telelogic, LDRA, Mathworks, Praxis High Integrity Systems, Serena, Sparx and Vector amongst others.

"This acquisition clearly strengthens our position as the embedded industry's second-largest supplier of development tools," said Jeremy Goulding, chief commercial officer of Artisan Software Tools, in the same statement.
