DISCRETES: Schottky diodes save energy, space in portable devices

eeProductCenter
San Jose, Calif. — Fairchild Semiconductor has introduced a series of energy- and space-efficient Schottky diodes for portable applications such as cell phones, PDAs and digital cameras. The BAS70SL, BAS40SL, and RB751SL Schottky diodes feature an extremely low forward drop (VF) of 380 mV, which is instrumental in extending battery life.

In addition, these Schottky diodes are housed in a SOD923 package that features one of the industry's lowest package heights (0.4 mm) and are 50 percent smaller than comparable diodes in SOD523 packaging, making them well-suited for portable applications.

The BAS70SL, BAS40SL, and RB751SL use lead-free (Pb-free) terminals and have been characterized for moisture sensitivity in accordance with the Pb-free reflow requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020. The devices are RoHS compliant.

Pricing: $ 0.04 in quantities of 1,000.
Availability: Samples are available now. Delivery is eight weeks.
Product information: BAS70SL, BAS40SL, and RB751SL
