SoC in a box

VoiceRay CGW is the first in a series of VoIP System-on-chip (SoC) units. These kits include RTL for the SoC design, SoC design and evaluation platform, DSP software, system software, SoC implementation services, and foundry services. The VoiceRay CGW uses a set of eight cores to deliver up to 192 channels of G.729a or 512 channels of G.711, both with 32ms of G.165/168 echo cancellation on a single chip. It supports G.7123.1, G.726, G.728, and G.729a vocoders. The VoiceRay CGW also supports G.165 and G.168 16, 32, 64, and 128ms echo cancellation.

Micro SoC

Microsystem-on-Chip is a series of platforms that incorporate user interfaces with process technology. It allows designers requiring high-speed serial interfaces to connect to modular arrays through the analog physical interface. The first Microsystem-on-Chip is called picoBOOST, and it incorporates an IP core, a microprocessor core, and a Bluetooth interface. Interfaces planned to be incorporated into future Microsystem-on-Chip platforms include USB v. 2.0, PCI-X, InfiniBand, FibreChannel, and Ethernet. picoBOOST will be available in the second quarter of 2001.

32-bit RISC

The V850E/IA2 ASSP microcontroller comes in a variety of integrated flash, ROM, and RAM options. It features on-chip peripheral functions for two-system motor driving by means of inverter control, two channels of three-phase encoder input, and two 8- and 6- channel A/D converter units. It also contains three serial interfaces,-UART, CSI, and UART CSI-which are suitable for systems that require communications among several peripheral units and devices. The V850E/IA2's specifications include a 4 to 40MHz clock frequency, 50 Dhrystone MIPS, two cycle MAC function, an internal power supply generator, 5V operation, and a 100-pin LQFP package. The flash version of the V850E/IA2 will sample in the third quarter of 2001. The ROM version samples in the fourth.

NAND chip

The SDTNE-256 is a 3.3V, 256-Mbit NAND EEPROM targeted at cell phones, Internet music players, and handheld computers. It is the first in a series of chips using NAND memory. It has a 528-byte static register that allows program and read data to be transferred between the register and the memory cell array in 528-byte increments. The Erase operation is implemented in a single block unit. The chips will be sold as TSOP devices. They're available now.
