Embedded Java environment

Embedded Systems Design
MicroChai VM is a Java application environment that allows customers to download Java applications to mobile intelligent devices. It was developed for resource-constrained devices such as cell phones, pagers, personal digital assistants, and point-of-sale terminals. MicroChai VM is compliant with the connected limited device configuration (CLDC) specification and comes with a suite of consulting services to help device manufacturers port and customize their MicroChai environment. It has a minimum ROM requirement of 37KB, with the CLDC implementation requiring less than 128KB ROM. It employs ChaiFreezeDry technology, which allows Java applications to run in a concentrated form, reducing the memory required to support the application by up to 90%. A developer's release of MicroChai is available now.
