Internet DSP

Embedded Systems Design
SmartStack for Ethernet combines the media access control layer (MAC), which consists of the functions necessary to connect to a local area network, and Internet protocols on a single DSP. It enables OEMs to build direct connectivity (e-mail, FTP, and a web server) into their equipment without the need for a PC or ISP. It can also be used to execute developer-specific functions. To accomplish all of this, SmartStack for Ethernet requires standard flash memory and a PHY component to connect the DSP to the RJ45 connector. Developers can integrate SmartStack into their own hardware or purchase a turnkey chipset. It interfaces with other applications by means of an AT-like command set running on the DSP. SmartStack for Ethernet is available now.
