CANtime is a Windows-based program designed to help engineers calculate the best values for programming a CAN controller's bit-timing registers. To do this, it uses CAN controller timing characteristics as well as the timing rules specified in the published CAN protocol. Engineers select the bit-timing register values they require and program them into the target application. To recalculate with different parameters, the user enters the new parameters and waits for the results. CANtime supports the Intel 82527, 87C196CA, and 87C196CB; the Motorola 68HC08 and 68HC12; the Philips 82C200, 80C592, 80C598, and SJA1000; and the Siemens C167CI, C197CR, C505C, and C515C. CANtime is available now for $250.
