The TMS320C5509 is a digital signal processor designed to meet the cost and power budgets required by handheld and internet-enabled devices. Operating at up to 400 MIPS, the C5509 features 96Kwords of single-access SRAM, 32Kwords of dual-acess DRAM, 32Kwords of ROM, and six-channel DMA. Its peripherals include an onboard USB port, three multi-channel buffered serial ports, a watchdog timer, a real-time clock with 32kHz crystal input and separate power supply, on-chip 10-bit ADC, I2C interfaces to microcontrollers and codecs, a host port interface, two 16-bit general purpose timers, an MMC/SD, and a memory stick interface. The C55089 will sample in June.
