Designed for automotive "mechatronic" applications, wherein electronics systems are physically integrated with mechanical elements, the L9805 SoC contains an ST7 microcontroller core, a 4A H-bridge motor driver, a CAN interface, a 10-bit ADC, a voltage regulator, 16KB EPROM, 256 bytes of RAM, 128-byte EEPROM, two timers, and two PWM controllers. It's made with sub-micron bipolar-CMOS-DMOS technology, which enables digital and analog processing functions and non-volatile memory to be combined with high-current DMOS power stages on a single chip. The chip is assembled in HIQuad64 packaging, which shares the external dimensions of a PFQP64 package, but with a copper insert underneath the die to conduct heat to the printed circuit board. The L9805 is sampling now.
