The Spartan-IIE family of FPGAs targets high-volume consumer applications. The system interface connectivity of the Spartan-IIE FPGAs provides LVDS capabilities for applications such as digital video, LCDs, plasma displays, scanners, and digital cameras. Support for the design of the Spartan-IIE product family is provided through the Xilinx 4.1i integrated software environment, which provides an ASIC-like methodology to create, synthesize, verify, and implement a logic design. Designers also have access to Xilinx's intellectual property portfolio. The family ranges in density from 50,000 to 300,000 system gates. Packaging options include a 208-pin PQFP, 144-pin TQFP, and both a 256- and 456-pin FGA. The architectures are available now ranging in price from $6.95 to $17.95 per unit.
