BSQUARE offers Secure Digital program

Embedded Systems Design

BSQUARE is offering a program to help manufacturers support Secure Digital (SD) and SD I/O products for Windows CE-based devices. The program, called SDIO Now, provides members with software subsystems, peripheral driver development tools, and technical assistance. Secure Digital is a standard for data storage and peripheral I/O expansion for small form-factor devices. Cards the size of postage stamps can store data on portable devices, such as MP3 players, digital cameras, handheld computers, and mobile phones. Because SD I/O support is not provided in Windows operating systems, manufacturers must write custom peripheral device drivers, which support proprietary bus interfaces, and device OEMs are limited to the peripherals that support proprietary bus drivers. To resolve this issue, SDIO Now provides standardized interfaces. Memberships are available now.
