Tau/Tester is a stand-alone, standards-based tool for testing systems and software applications. It's designed to address all phases of the test cycle, on a single desktop. It also employs a standardized testing language, TTCN-3, which, in contrast to previous versions, can be used in the testing of systems from a broad range of application areas. TTCN-3 applies to any system including 3G, XML, and CORBA-based protocols. Tau/Tester supports Windows and Solaris, and its user-interface is the same on either host. It also supports distributed testing, and uses the Source Code Control Interface (SCCI) to integrate with configuration management systems. According to the company, SCCI supports the majority of CM tools. Tau/Tester is available now in a number of configurations ranging from $6,995 to $11,397.
