ARM core supports Java acceleration

Embedded Systems Design
The ARM1026EJ-S is the latest addition to the ARM10E microprocessor family. It's fully synthesizable and supports Jazelle technology for Java acceleration. According to the company, it runs at a minimum of 325MHz in a 0.13-micron foundry process, and is targeted at network processing, automotive, embedded control, consumer entertainment, and wireless devices. The core implements the ARM v5TEJ instruction set architecture and includes extensions of the ARM architecture, the Thumb architecture, DSP, and Jazelle technology. Support for the optional VFP10 floating-point co-processor and ETM10RV embedded trace macrocell is also included. The core offers support for configurable caches and tightly coupled memories. It's delivered as synthesizable IP and features support for memory management units and memory protection units. A 64-bit on-chip interconnect allows for increased bandwidth to address the implementation of complex algorithms, such as networking with large datasets. The ARM1026EJ-S core is available now for licensing.
