Ericsson , Rococo team for Bluetooth applications development

LONDON — Wireless Java infrastructure software and tools supplier Rococo Software (Dublin, Ireland) has linked with Ericsson Technology Licensing in a project that will adapt Rococo Java technology to work with the Ericsson Core Bluetooth Stack.

As part of the alliance Ericsson Technology Licensing will sell Bluetooth software with the Rococo Java API. The companies said the deal will help bring Bluetooth applications to market more quickly.

Rococo helped set the standard for Java and Bluetooth technology and is considered an innovators for mobile computing applications.

"This solution enables equipment manufacturers to take advantage of Bluetooth in their platform by making the technology accessible through Java," said Maria Khorsand, president of Ericsson Technology Licensing.

Sean O'Sullivan, chief executive of Rococo Software, added, "Our goal is to make it easier for developers to build great Bluetooth applications."
