    • I was born in 1960 so mainly remember Apollo 8 to the Skylab missions. In 2012 I contracted at Curtiss Wright Controls. They have a corporate pedigree including the Wright brothers. The lunchroom contains a note from astronauts Gus Grissom and John Young thanking the predecessor firm in Pasadena that had provided "precision timers" to man-rate the Titan II for an unmanned Gemini test. This was before their Gemini 3 flight. I went to the firm's old address, and sure enough, there is an "Astro" motel still on Colorado Boulevard.
