A/D converters cut the cost of delivering professional quality sound

The CS5361 and CS5351 high performance analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) from Cirrus Logic provide professional sound quality for audio video receivers (AVRs) and DVD-recorders (DVD-Rs).

The CS5361 has an analog performance of 114dB dynamic range and 105dB THD+N). With 24-bit resolution and support for sample rates up to 192kHz, the CS5361 is compatible with next generation audio formats, such as DVD Audio.

The CS5351 is suitable for the cost sensitive applications, with 24-bit resolution and support for 192 kHz sample rates to provide 108dB dynamic range and 100dB THD+N. The CS5351 shares the same footprint as the CS5361 and differs only in utilising a single-ended input architecture versus the fully differential inputs featured on the CS5361.

The CS5361 and CS5351 A/D converters are based on a proprietary multi-bit delta sigma architecture with advanced dynamic element matching.

Both converters are available in a 24-pin SOIC package. Pin-compatibility reduces time-to-market and provides an upgrade path for manufacturers.
