LONDON Vaughan Price, Actel's European managing director is to join Silicon Laboratories Inc. as vice president of European sales. Price is replacing Kurt Hoff who is transferring to Silicon Labs Austin HQ to become vice president of worldwide sales.
Prior to Actel, Price spent five years at Texas Instruments supporting technical sales and marketing for DSP andASIC products in Europe and began his sales career in distribution as a field application engineer. He has a bachelor’s degree in electronicsand a master’s degree in ASIC design and CAE tools from the University of Manchester.
Hoff is replacing Gary Gay, who plans to retire but will assist with the transition through the end of the year. Hoff joined Silicon Laboratories in 2005 was previously president, chief executive officer and director of Cognio, a spectrum management company and also managed sales and operations for C-Port Corporation, anetwork processor company acquired by Motorola in May 2000. Hoff also held various positions at AMD including vice president of sales.
