AdvancedTCA packet processing blade accelerates wireless and VoIP apps

Continuous Computing's FlexPacket ATCA-BCM40 AdvancedTCA (ATCA) product is a high-performance packet processing blade. In addition to the higher packet processing performance, it offers increased memory, more expansion mezzanines, higher density, and easy customization. Potential telecom applications include session border controllers, media gateways and servers, video gateways, wireless nodes, and IP multimedia subsystem network elements.

The key benefit of FlexPacket is higher packet processing performance due to the use of four Broadcom BCM1480 high-performance MIPS64 CPU packet processors. This MIPS-based approach means that customers needn't worry about code space or having to optimize microengine instructions, thereby reducing the amount of time or specialized training needed to create and start up an application. More information about FlexPacket is available on Continuous Computing's web site at www.ccpu.com.
