In a massive attack on the mixed-signal and digital-storage oscilloscope market Agilent Technologies Inc. has added two new families – the InfiniiVision 2000 and 3000 X-Series – with 26 models.
Aimed at engineers and educators with constrained equipment budgets the InfiniiVision 2000 X-Series provides bandwidths from 70 MHz to 200 MHz with optional 8-channel mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO) capability, and an optional integrated function generator.
The InfiniiVision 3000 X-Series provides bandwidths from 100 MHz to 500 MHz and waveform update rates of 1,000,000 waveforms per second. Options include a 16-channel MSO, an integrated function generator, and hardware-accelerated serial protocol decode.
The X-Series scopes use an Agilent-designed custom 90-nm CMOS ASIC with 6M gates and embedded memory. This MegaZoom IV single-chip architecture provides fast waveform update rates and responsive deep memory along with integrated logic analyzer, function generator, and protocol analyzer functionality.
According to Jay Alexander, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s oscilloscopes business this is the first time this is the first time the company's MSO technology has been used in the economy scope segment.
InfiniiVision X-Series models provide an update rates of up to 1,000,000 waveforms per second and the MegaZoom IV technology that also minimizes blind time and maintains responsiveness with deep memory enabled.
All the X-Series models have an 8.5-inch WVGA display, weigh 8.5 pounds and have a footprint of about 15 inches wide and less than 6 inches deep.
The integrated MSO provides time-aligned digital and analog signal viewing. Optional hardware-accelerated serial protocol analysis is available on the 3000 X-Series models only.
Optional measurement software packages to add functionality are available either at time of purchase or later. These provide segmented memory for analysis of laser pulses, radar bursts and serial packets; hardware-accelerated mask testing to quickly perform pass/fail analysis using known good waveforms; and hardware-accelerated serial decode and trigger for I2C, SPI, CAN, LIN, I2S, RS-232 and other UARTs (available only on the 3000 X-Series).
