CAMBRIDGE, England Amino Communications has appointed Karthik Ranjan as director of product marketing to lead its global product marketing and communications operation from the company's Cambridge headquarters.
Ranjan, previously headed Amino's US sales operation and was instrumental in arranging key contracts with US telcos & hospitality customers including, Surewest, Ringgold and TotalVision. Prior to Amino, he worked at Intel and was involved in the standardisation efforts within the broadband arena with g.lite and DOCSIS standards. He also led an industry-wide initiative to make broadband easier to deploy.
His experience with Liberate Technologies allowed him to make significant contributions to the advancement of interactive TV technology and the definition of next-generation set-top software and applications and while working at Irdeto Access, Ranjan worked closely with Telcos and major broadcasters to facilitate the licensing of content from Hollywood Studios specifically for video over IP networks.
