LONDON — Amino is to supply standard and high definition set-top boxes (STBs) for FISION's fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) video service.

Amino (Cambridge, U.K.), will provide the first generation STBs for FISION, that will receive over 300 video channels including over 50 channels of high definition television (HDTV), video-on-demand (VOD) and original and speciality programming.

Amino will provide the AmiNET120 STB, a high definition set-top box fitted into Amino's award winning ultra-compact form factor, which is fully capable of driving HDTV and SDTV displays. The AmiNET120 is compatible with leading worldwide providers of conditional access and middleware solutions enabling a full end-to-end IPTV solution including both broadcast TV and video-on-demand. In addition, FISION will make available Amino's AmiNET500 STB, which features built-in PVR functionality.

FISION, a subsidiary of the Optical Entertainment Network, is scheduled to launch in December 2005 in Houston, Texas, the 10th largest television market in the U.S. In addition to delivering over 300 channels of entertainment programming, FISION will deliver internet services at speeds of 10 to 100Mbps per subscriber. FISION will also provide IP Voice services including local and long distance services, to deliver on the promise of true convergence from one company.

Optical Entertainment Network is providing the first major market deployment of video, internet and voice to residential and commercial customers over a system specifically designed to optimize fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technology.
