Analog switches feature CSP packaging

Pericom Semiconductor's latest family of advanced analog switches for mobile terminal applications feature chip-scale packaging (CSP), low on-resistance (0.5 ohms), and wide voltage ranges (1.65 to 5.5 V). The PI5A4xxx ICs are dual high-bandwidth SPDT and SP3T CMOS analog switches housed in 2- by 1.5- by 0.6-mm packages. These small footprint parts can be employed for multi-band and hands-free functions, polyphonic ring tones (MIDI), FM radio, MP3/MP4 players, and memo recorder applications. The parts' micro-coated CSP packages, with a -.5-mm solder bump pitch for easy handling, have eliminated the plastic housing around the die.

The family consists of the PI5A4684 low-voltage, dual SPDT, 2:1 mux/demux bus switch; the PI5A4765 low-voltage, dual SPDT audio clickless analog switch with headphone/mute detection and 2:1 mux/demux; the PI5A4764 low-voltage, dual SPDT audio clickless analog switch with 2:1 mux/demux using shunt switches; and the PI5A4213 low-voltage, dual SP3T 3:1 mux/demux bus switch.
