Cambridge, UK An embedded laptop antenna solution for 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth has been demonstrated by Antenova. The company's High Dielectric Antenna (HDA) technology has been used to develop Bluetooth (2.5GHz), 802.11b/g (2.5GHz) and 802.11a (5GHz) antennas with isolation between.
The isolation is 40dB between WLAN and Bluetooth, and it consists of 3 elements; 2 dual-band antennas for WLAN with polarisation diversity and one Bluetooth antenna. Each antenna is less than 5mm high and 7mm wide and areoptimised to work inside the lip of the plastic case of a laptop.
The company has created a reference specification and platform.
