LONDON Lancing-based Geoff Bullen Electronics were selected as a finalists and received and award in this year’s Manufacturing Excellence Awards organised by the Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
Other finalists included BAE Systems Submarines, Bookham, Corus Tubes, Ford, CMR Controls, Gripple, Leyland Trucks, Vauxhall, and Metallifacture and GBE received an award for 'Outstanding Achievement in Product Innovation'. Mark Bullen, partner at GBE, said, “As a SME of only 9 people, we were delighted to receive such a prestigious award in this leading competition, especially given the calibre of the other finalists.”
“This has rounded off an excellent year for us as we only moved into product design last February and to be recognised at such an early stage reiterates what a tremendous achievement this is.”
GBE manufactures mobile data communications units for the taxi industry, industrial high voltage equipment, blood logistic systems, precision time clocks, and electronic toys.
The 'The Manufacturing Excellence Awards' are designed to encourage and reward high standards and innovative working practices in UK companies, while setting a benchmark for running a successful and competitive business.
