LONDON There has been a full commercial release of Adeneo Embedded's Windows Embedded CE 6.0 board support package (BSP) for Freescale's i.MX25 product development kit (PDK) applications processor based on the ARM9 core.
Adeneo says its BSP is the editor of the reference BSP for the i.MX25 PDK as well as the Freescale i.MX27 PDK, broadening its development of reference Windows Embedded CE BSPs for the Freescale i.MX family product line.
This release is the result of collaboration between Adeneo Embedded and Freescale to provide solutions for Windows Embedded CE on Freescale i.MX architecture. Through this collaboration, Adeneo Embedded operates as a Freescale partner who can provide support and system integration services around Windows Embedded CE on i.MX25 based designs and the i.MX product family.
Because of its compliance with Microsoft PQOAL (Production-Quality OEM Adaptation Layer) and PQD (Production Quality Device) specifications, Adeneo says its embedded BSPs are the most cost-effective way to develop custom solutions on Freescale chips under Windows Embedded CE with the minimal redesign. Only the portions of the BSPs handling board features need to be reviewed and redesigned and all code linked to the core CPU can be reused without modifications. The BSPs includes the drivers for most of the peripherals integrated in i.MX25 PDK, such as USB, display, audio, touch screen, and Ethernet.
