LONDON Micrel has appointed David Brown as its managing director of Micrel Europe with David Foster becoming his deputy.
Brown (left), who has been with Micrel for nine years, was most recently the Company’s Technical Sales Manager. He will now be responsible for Micrel’s legal entity in the U.K., as well as all sales in Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and India.
Foster has been with Micrel for eight years, most recently as Micrel’s European distribution manager, and will now add contract manufacturing for EMEA and India to his list of responsibilities.
Mark Lunsford, vice president of worldwide sales for Micrel, said “I have confidence that with David Brown’s extensive major account experience, excellent product knowledge and his ability to get things done, he will continue to drive our sales and grow Micrel’s presence in the territory. By putting David Foster in charge of the contract manufacturing channel, as well as our distribution network, Micrel can optimize the supply solutions for our CM partners assuring them the best possible service while at the same time, bringing more strategic value to the distributor network.”
Brown has more than 21 years industry experience and prior to joining Micrel, he held various technical and management positions with several major semiconductor companies, including a two-year assignment based in France.
Foster (left) has more than 30 years experience in the industry and prior to joining Micrel, he held various management, purchasing and product marketing positions with several major semiconductor companies and key UK distributors.
Micrel maintains localized sales and support offices in Newbury, U.K.; Villebon, France and Stockholm, Sweden. The Company’s European design centers are situated in Livingston, Scotland; Frankfurt Am Oder, Germany and Oslo, Norway.
