LONDON The standards and certification body, BSI Group, has acquired Entropy International Ltd, a provider of performance and sustainability software solutions.
Entropy International Ltd (Lancaster, England) has international operations in Ottawa, Canada and Exton PA, U.S., providing multi-national clients with an integrated web-based tool for assessing and managing risk, performance and compliance, across environment, health & safety and quality management systems.
Entropy’s services are seen as complementary to BSI which operates in 86 countries, is a development of bespoke standardization solutions and the delivery of management systems standards assessments.

Entropy is continually developing its systems to maintain a ‘best of breed’ position in its market – through technical development, expansion of its expert knowledge base and its growing span of integrated applications,” said Stevan Breeze, CEO of BSI Group.
The BSI Group includes BSI Management Systems which operates worldwide to provide organizations with independent third-party certification of their management systems, including ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO/IEC 27001 (previously BS 7799 for Information Security), ISO/IEC 20000 (previously BS 15000 for IT Service Management) and Food Safety, including ISO 22000.
It also includes BSI British Standards, the National Standards Body of the U.K. which develops standards and standardization solutions. It works with government, businesses and consumers to represent U.K. interests and enable the production of British, European and international standards as well as BSI Product Services, best known for the Kitemark product quality mark.
