Silicon Storage Technology (SST) has added the SST55LC100 to its NAND Flash Disk Controller family. This media controller provides a high-performance, cost-effective solution for custom applications. It's based on the company's embedded SuperFlash technology, allowing the devices to support newly available NAND flash components through simple firmware modification.

The SST55LC100 features a flexible embedded flash architecture, delivering up to 10 Mbytes/s sustained read and write performance. In addition, the controller includes dynamic wear leveling and an advanced error-correction engine to increase the endurance of CompactFlash cards above that of the individual NAND components specification. The SST55LC100 is offered in commercial and industrial temperature ranges and comes in a standard 100-pin TQFP package or a 9 by 9-mm TFBGA package.
