CCFL inverters boast small form factor

Endicott Research Group (ERG) has developed an inverter with a very small form factor in both open frame and vacuum encapsulated versions. The S series dc-ac inverter can power up to two cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) and measures just 0.62 by 2.87 by 0.38 in. It weighs in at 12 g. This low-profile inverter can handle up to 5 W of output power and is available in standard 5- and 12-V designs. Input voltages from 3.3 to 48 V dc can be designed upon request.

The SE series dc-ac inverter employs the same form factor as the S series but is vacuum encapsulated to provide maximum reliability and excellent resistance to shock, vibration, and humidity. It's suited for single- or dual-lamp applications. The SE series inverters measure 0.75 by 2.98 by 0.42 in.

Both inverter series feature an operating temperature range of –20°C to 70°C. Variations of the S and SE series are available for LCDs from most major panel makers. Pricing for S series is $7.32 in production quantities. Pricing for SE series inverters is $9.80. For more information, contact ERG at www.ergpower.com.
