LONDON Precision linear motor specialist Anorad has opened a manufacturing plant in China. The company says the expansion is a way of giving existing and potential customers in the east a local manufacturer as well as providing large European OEMs with a source of affordable products in large quantities.
The Anrad (Basingstoke, U.K.) Chinese factory will focus on manufacturing the new LC series linear motors as well as high volume stages and gantries. Andrew Holmes, sales manager at Anorad UK, said, “This new facility in China provides us with ability to meet the demands of customers looking for product to be shipped in the hundreds every year. However, we still retain our core selling point – the capacity to custom build to specification in Europe.”
The plant has a capacity of 60,000 square feet with Anorad utilising half of the manufacturing space. The China facility doubles the company's manufacturing capability outside the U.S.
Anorad is the precision motion control division of Rockwell Automation and has additional manufacturing operations in Israel and the Netherlands.
