Chip speeds Ethernet migration to 10-Gbits/s using long-reach multimode fiber
Westlake Village, Calif.Inphi Corp. has started to sample the 1348TA S03D, an integrated Transimpedance Amplifier/Automatic Gain Control for SFP+ modules designed to speed Ethernet migration to 10-Gbits/s using long reach multi-mode fiber.
Inphi is touting the 1348TA S03D as the first 10-Gbits/s integrated TIA/AGC to meet or exceed every requirement of the IEEE 802.3aq, 10GBASE-LRM (10G LRM) standard.
The 1348TA S03D is part of the PhyOptik product family. The 1348TA S03D provides a 6 K- differential, resulting in high output voltage amplitude that meets the SFP+ requirements over the entire operating range from “11 dBm (optical modulation amplitude) to + 3dBm (optical modulation amplitude) without the need for an additional buffer amp.
Based on the 1348TA-S01D TIA/AGC, the 1348TA-S03D extends the power supply operating range of the 1348TA to ±10% and output ESD protection to over 1-KV (Human Body Model).
Availability: Volume shipments expected to begin in the first quarter of 2008.
