Code coverage/compliance come to FPGA based embedded designs

At Embedded World, LDRA and Xilinx took wraps off an updated version of the FPGA company's Zynq-7000 AP SoC development kit  that incorporates LDRA's tools for code compliance and structural coverage.

Xilinx is hoping the addition of the LDRA structural coverage and standards compliance tools help provide the the Zynq-7000 boot loader code and device driver code with the certification, compliance, and functional safety for key markets in automotive, avionics, industrial and medical.

In addition, the LDRA tool suite can now be used in Zynq-7000 SoC developments to help ensure and demonstrate compliance with relevant industry standards such as DO-178, IEC 61508, and ISO 26262.

“Verification of software and independent proof of standards compliance, once only stipulated by the avionics industry, is increasingly demanded by governments, industry agencies, and OEMs,” noted Ian Hennell, LDRA Operations Director.

“Approaching the safety-critical market with the hardware platform already compliance-ready, whether for the avionics DO-178C, automotive ISO 26262, industrial IEC 61508 or other standards, streamlines the compliance management process and significantly decreases costs.”
