Advanced Analogic Technologies (AnalogicTech) announced the AAT1121, a step-down converter for space-constrained portable applications. Mounted in a 2- by 2- by 0.85-mm TDFN package, the device offers 250-mA output current at up to 96% efficiency.
The AAT1121 operates over a 2.7- to 5.5-V input range with an output as low as 0.6 V. With an efficiency as high as 96%, the part maintains a 30-μA no-load quiescent current. The device also uses a 1.5-MHz switching frequency which reduces the size of external components. A high-dc gain error amplifier with internal compensation controls the output and provides excellent transient response and load regulation.
The AAT1121 offers both current limit and over-temperature protection. Soft-start circuitrylimits current surge at input and eliminates output voltage overshoot. Specified over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range, the AAT1121 sells for $0.76 in 1000-piece quantities. For more information, visit the AnalogicTech Web site at www.analogictech.com.
