LONDON The Association of Franchised Distributors of Electronic Components (AFDEC) monthly statistics for the U.K. distribution market reveal that total average daily bookings (net sales orders entered) in December 2005 declined by 4% compared to the previous month.
Semiconductors declined by 3.8%; passives declined by 1%; and Electromechs by 13.5% but on the plus side, component assemblies increased by 3.3% whilst 'other products' increased by 15.4%.
Average daily billings (net sales invoiced less credits) in December 2005 increased by 4.6%, when compared to the previous month but declined by 2.2% compared to the same period last year. December billings by sector compared to November 2005 are: semiconductors, up by 13.8%; passives, flat; electromechanical devices, down by 9%; component assemblies, up by 7.3%; and other components down by 3.5%.
The overall book-to-bill ratio in December declined to 0.98:1 while stock turn ratios declined slightly to 2.3 times, with overall inventory levels increasing by 4.7%. Debtor Days declined slightly to a total of 63.7 days.
