Cyan MCUs get tracking in India

LONDON — Cyan Holdings Plc has got a design-in from India for its low-power microcontrollers to be used in a system for vehicle tracking using GPS, enabling logistics optimisation within fleet management.

The initial order is for 5,000 units, together with an indicative forecast for 40,000 microcontroller chips to be delivered in the next 12 months.

Cyan (Cambridge, England) has already received an initial orders of up to 1,000 chips from this customer over the past few months but the current order and forecast from the distributor is indicative of the project moving to deployment.

Cyan has also said that as a result of signing a global distribution agreement with Mouser Electronics Inc. (Mansfield, TX) it has now received an initial stocking order of US$22,500 to initiate the agreement.
