The DESIGN West 2013 conference announced its keynotes for the Silicon Valley at the McEnery Convention Center April 22 through 25, 2013. The lineup includes Luke Dubord of NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover team; Mayim Bialik, who holds a PhD in neuroscience in addition being the actress who plays Amy Farrah Fowler on “The Big Bang Theory” and neuroscientist; and Hugh Herr of the MIT Media Lab Biomechatronics Research Group to speak at DESIGN West in April.
- Tuesday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m.: Luke Dubord , avionics system engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory is currently the cross cutting infrastructure and autonomous fault protection lead on the Mars Science Laboratory mission.
- Wednesday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m.: Mayim Bialik ,the actress who has appeared on “Big Bang Theory” as Amy Farrah Fowler and played Blossom in the '90s tv show “Blossom” will discuss how she made a name for herself in the entertainment business while earning a PhD in neuroscience from University of California, Los Angeles.
- Thursday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m.: Hugh Herr heads the biomechatronics research group at the MIT Media Lab and focuses on developing physically-assistive technologies that will be intimate extensions of the human body—structurally, neurologically, and dynamically.

The Embedded Systems Conference is going on its 25th year of providing classes and exhibitions aimed at embedded systems developers and designers. The conference is now held twice a year as part of DESIGN West and DESIGN East, in San Jose, CA, and Boston, MA, respectively.
