LONDON A number of companies are participating in a UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) display mission to Asia in order to showcase the advantages of display technology research and development (R&D) in the UK.
The companies presently on tour include OLED-T (Enfield, England), DuPont Teijin Films (Middlesbrough, England), Cambridge Display Technology and Exxelis (Glasgow, Scotland) and they are taking the opportunity to meet with companies such as Samsung and LG Philips and other major display related manufacturers.
The tour is visiting Korea, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan in a bid to strengthen existing research partnerships in the U.K. and also help companies in Asia to establish new, or expand existing, R&D operations in the U.K. or collaborate with U.K. companies on R&D activity.
“Although Asia is the leader in volume display manufacture, the U.K. is home to a lot of innovative businesses who are well placed to help progress the development of display technologies. For us this mission is exceptionally important as it gives us the opportunity to show case the benefits of our OLED technology in front of companies that drive the display market,” said Myrddin Jones, chief executive officer, OLED-T.
