Driver module provides an integrated solution to power EL lamps

The latest addition to Rogers' Durel line of integrated drivers is the D381B, a stand-alone electroluminescent (EL) driver module that combines all the external discrete components required to backlight monochrome displays and keypads. This integrated module provides a turn-key solution for simple application designs as well as quick and easy board mounting.

The 5- by 7-mm D381B has a power inductor embedded in the module. It operates with a 2.0- to 6.0-V dc input voltage range and employs the company's three-port (3P) topology for reduction of audible and electrical noise. It also features internally controlled current discharge for additional reduction of audible and electrical noise. Samples D381B module are available from stock.
